Should Your Home Theater Include 3DTV?

Adoption of 3D TV not happening as fast as some experts predicted. Robert Simpson, President of Callaway Home Theater does not see demand for 3D TV increasing this year." I have not seen evidence yet that consumers will spend hours wearing 3D glasses to watch movies or sports in 3D." Callaway Home Theater has been designing and installing home theater and whole house audio systems in Atlanta throughout Fulton County for more than 20 years." Customers seem much more interested in ways to integrate home audio, video, lighting controls and home security together and eliminate the need to have numerous remote controls" said Simpson.

The price of 3D TV sets and wearing special glasses are the two biggest things standing between 3DTVs and mass consumer adoption of the technology, according to a report by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).Another concern is the lack of movies and television shows available in 3D according to surveys of retailers.CEA reported more than 75% of consumers surveyed said they have yet to watch 3D content on a 3DTV.“Those who’ve experienced it first-hand have a greater appetite for it,” said Shawn DuBravac, chief economist and director of research for CEA.While CEA is estimating that for 2010 only 1.1 million HDTVs will be 3DTVs (3% of the HDTV market), that number could grow to 28 million in the next three years.

There are so many options available to Atlanta homeowners who are interested in adding a home theater or converting their home to a Smart Home. Callaway Home Theater works very closely with their customers to understand not only the type of home theater equipment they want but also how their entire home comfort can be improved. Offering the latest home automation technology from Crestron and Control4, Callaway Home Theater can design a system that controls indoor comfort, home security, lighting controls and whole house audio.
